Italy plans to make oxygen from Moon dust by 2029

At the Aerospace Festival in Olbia, Sardinia, ASI, ESA, parliamentarians, universities and industry met on 2 October to discuss using lunar resources: regolith, water ice, oxygen, propellant, 3D-printed building and robotics. ASI science director Mario Cosmo pointed to the Oracle experiment, planned for September 2029 to extract oxygen from lunar soil. Our take: living off the land is what turns Moon visits into a Moon economy.
