NASA says Voyager 1 will be one light-day from Earth at about 06:16 UTC on 18 November 2026: roughly 25.9 billion km (173 AU), so a radio message needs a full 24 hours each way and a command and its reply two days. It will be the first human-made object so far away. Launched in 1977, the probe runs on a little over 200 watts from plutonium generators that lose about 4 W a year; this autumn engineers swapped three power-hungry units for low-power ones (the “Big Bang” manoeuvre) to keep its last instruments running. Our take: you cannot see it, but that evening it lies in Ophiuchus, low in the south-west after sunset.
