NISAR, built by NASA’s JPL (L-band radar) and India’s ISRO (S-band), turned its images of Krasheninnikov in Kamchatka, erupting for the first time in nearly 500 years, into a time-lapse from December 2025 to August 2026. It sees through cloud and darkness and revisits each spot every 12 days. Our take: radar is how you watch the ground move when no one can stand on it.
