On 30 September Portuguese company Omnidea completed its purchase of assets of Scottish launch firm Orbex, which entered administration in February: two buildings in Forres, equipment, intellectual property and the brand. It has set aside over €10 million and will develop PrimeNEO, an evolution of Orbex’s Prime, with the Azores or Scotland as possible launch sites. Our take: Portugal suddenly has a stake in Europe’s small-launcher race.
