SpaceX’s IFT-14 left Starbase on 28 September, released 26 Starlink V3 satellites and splashed down in the North Pacific after 3 h 8 min instead of the planned ten or so hours; the ship lost one of its three vacuum engines on the way up. Our take: orbit is the milestone. The test that matters for NASA’s Moon plans, refuelling in orbit, is still ahead.
